Independent stewardship
Governance protects the mission and keeps core infrastructure openly available.
Nonprofit organization
We steward open skills infrastructure in service of the global common good. People from education, work, technology and the public sector develop it together — transparently and openly.

Our purpose
The Open Skills Consortium is a nonprofit organization for open skills infrastructure as a global digital public good.
We are not building another closed platform. We create a shared open foundation so capabilities, evidence and opportunities can accompany people across systems and borders.
What nonprofit means to us
We measure success by whether more people can understand, carry and use their capabilities — regardless of vendor, language, geography or economic power.
Governance protects the mission and keeps core infrastructure openly available.
Communities from every region can contribute needs, languages and lived realities.
Decisions, evidence, limitations and learning remain visible and open to challenge.
Who contributes

They bring the processes, concepts and edge cases a standard must withstand.
Technology
They test whether models are unambiguous, interfaces practical and changes manageable.
Responsibility
They make sure openness does not come at the expense of people, rights or accountable decisions.
How we work
We state clearly whether something is a draft, a pilot finding or an adopted recommendation.
Help shape
Bring a data question, a pilot or expert feedback. Together we will find where your contribution can have the most impact.
